Introducing the women behind Alpenglow - Denise Smith and Tammy Melendez

Denise: Denise Smith is a dedicated business owner with 37 years of experience in the insurance and financial services industry. Known for her integrity and customer-first approach, she has built lasting relationships by helping clients protect their assets and plan confidently for the future.
She recently expanded her entrepreneurial journey with Alpenglow Coffee, inspired by her belief in its environmentally responsible practices and exceptional, great-tasting coffee. For Denise, it’s a natural extension of her commitment to quality, purpose, and serving others. Outside of work, Denise enjoys Pilates, hiking, scuba diving, and traveling — passions that reflect her adventurous spirit and work-life balance.

Tammy: In 2025, Tammy retired after dedicating 39 years to a career in the insurance and financial services industry. Her longstanding 30-year friendship with Denise, along with their shared values and beliefs, inspired them to join forces and purchase Alpenglow Coffee Company. This new venture provides Tammy with the opportunity to maintain her entrepreneurial spirit while also supporting environmental sustainability.
When Tammy is not working, she embraces a healthy lifestyle by engaging in activities such as walking, Pilates, and strength training. These pursuits are especially beneficial, enabling her to enjoy active time with her grandchildren.
